Looking for a fuel tank bushing so I can resurrect the Saab. The part number is 8325656 but I’ve only managed to find one in stock from a retailed called Skandix. For 8EU I was willing to go ahead and wait the 4 weeks for it to get here.

Until I got to the shipping portion.

Any guesses how much to ship an 8 Euro part to the US?

N o, you’re wrong.

125 Euros.

Kinja'd!!!

Yeah I think that is a pass.

Also I’m not sure I’d call that a “Standard rate”.

How big is the part?

I’m thinking it may be cheaper to ship to me in the U.K. and then forward it on via Royal Mail, Parcel Force, etc...

The shape seems quite easy to reproduce , the issue could be to find a gas-proof material if it’s critical.

Probably  cheaper to order a generic item from Grainger or McMaster- Carr.

For  125 euros that should be coming overnight on a plane.

So “standard” includes a meal and free drinks for the bushing,  I assume?

That can’t be right, I ordered some Volvo wheel bearings from them a few months ago a nd shipping was like 40 Euros to the US. Might be worth contacting them and seeing if there is some kind of error there.

I don’t recognize this bushing... where does it go? “Fuel tank” sounds like it might be for a vent hose or something, but when I google the part number, I see a diagram pointing to what appears to be an intake tube?

Close.  It is the bushing for the fuel return line.  Or evap...?  One of the two.

That’s the plan, just figured I’d make the effort to get the “right” part so I don’t have to risk doing this again.

Yeah should be easy enough to find a generic replacement.

About half an inch in diameter? I appreciate the offer but I’m good with finding a generic replacement instead.... though if that fails I might be commenting here again haha

No worries (I also woul dn’t charge for postage).

I think any one of us EuroOPPOs would be more than happy to post it.

Whoops, turns out I was looking at the wrong diagram. Apparently t he same bushing is used both under the hood and for the tank.

I think there are other part numbers you can use, the number you have is possibly supers eded.

Try  SAAB Grommet 9324021

Hmm I was wondering and I’ll check. I have three of 9324021 as they’re needed elsewhere on the tank.

Website I went to shows several part numbers for same part in diagram, this was one of the numbers that checked out.

And I did find the other part number you were search for, 10 in stock here:

https://www.jendvandenbosch.nl/brandstofslang-aansluiting-rubber-afdichting-origineel-saab-900-classic-bj-1979-1993-ond-nr-8325656.html

Not sure what shipping is, but can’t be more than the other quote.

My sister lives in Germany, and she can ship things on the military basd via USPS for regular US domestic rates. Skandix ships to anywhere in Germany for €5. If you can’t find it anywhere else let me know and I’ll get her to ship one to you for €5 + whatever USPS shipping is.

I recently got a set of Aussie spec tail lights for my 240 (clear turn signals instead of amber), which I couldn’t find anywhere in North America. They were €80 at Skandix and shipping was going to be €88. So I paid the €5 and then the $29 it cost my sister $ 29 to ship them to me.

Take the Saab number to a GM dealer they might use it on a Chevy or Saturn perhaps
